UK retail promotion specialist Access Point ( www.apuk.net) has revealed a new record.
The value of all offers printed on till rolls supplied in March was in excess of £815 million – the highest total in the company’s history.
And the Lancashire-based company revealed that a monthly total of £1 billion is now well within reach.
Using industry standard redemption rates, the total translates to a conservatively estimated £10 million saved by customers purchasing products and services provided by businesses offering till roll promotions.
For Access Point, Jeanette Morgan said,
“ It’s wonderful to think that there might soon be up to £1 billion-worth of savings being printed on till rolls throughout the country every month. I have never known anything like it in more than seven years in the industry. There’s no question that the current challenging trading conditions represent a boom time for our business.”
Access Point vouchers are printed on till rolls throughout the UK and exclusively issued by retailers including Sainsburys and Morrisons.
Popular voucher offers include buy one get one free, discounts and free offers as well as public awareness campaigns
The company regularly monitors the estimated value of offers and has seen a steady increase in the number and generosity of promotions. The March figure represents a 112% year-on-year increase with the same month this year.
Jeanette adds,
“ Our clients are spending market budgets more keenly than ever before. Every penny they spend needs to be accountable. Vouchers let them measure the response and monitor value for money.”
“ On another level, till roll offers represent the retail community pulling together in tough times. It’s about larger retailers promoting smaller retailers’ products and services to hundreds of thousands of customers. Everyone wins.”
