West Riding Toyota Reveal UK’s First Car Dealership ‘Gorilla’ Marketing Campaign

West Riding Toyota marketing manager Danny Holden is swapping high-powered business suits for a gorilla outfit as he launches the UK’s first Car Dealership ‘Gorilla’ Marketing Campaign.

West Riding marketing manager Danny Holden will be seen walking around the streets of Bradford in a Gorilla suit wearing an A-board proclaiming “The Event is Near!”

The campaign also features an imaginative advertising campaign to accompany a three-day reduction in used car prices as low as £4,000 all with two years free servicing. The campaign starts on on Thursday 19 th March.

Danny said,

The worst thing about the outfit is the heat. It’s hot in the suit, but so are the promotional offers! It would be easy for me to sit back and let our marketing agency take the strain with some well-placed eye-catching adverts in the local press.

But I’ve never been one to sit back. I’d rather be out there spreading the word. Even if it does mean being dressed in a gorilla suit to get the message across.”

The gorilla campaign is the latest in a long line of inventive marketing strategies to spread the word about low promotional car prices and community initiatives. Last year more than 100 customers visited the show room to hug a car technician as part of the dealership’s push on servicing.

In the community, West Riding also have strong local links with Abundant Life Church – West Riding donated gifts for a Christmas present give-away; the West Riding Toyota Kids Rugby Festival; and, a local primary school walking bus sponsorship amongst others.

Danny added,

We’re proud of our innovative approach to marketing. And if any motorists see me in town it would be great if they can honk their horn in support. Just please … no bananas!”
